Town Team Meeting with Action for Market Towns

The Trowbridge Town Team are very grateful that @man_about_towns Chris Wade and Mike King from Action for Market Towns are coming down to meet with us today.  We shall be discussing ways to promote the town over the coming months and start to introduce some innovative ways to revitalise Fore Street, the Old Town of Trowbridge, which would see ripple effects throughout the community.

First on the hit list shall be to guage Chris and Mike’s opinion on our Bid 2.0 model, or as Mary Portas would call it a Super BID.  In a nutshell a BID is a Business Improvement District that requires a small uplift in rates but keeps money local, for local use and has been used successfully now for a number of years in towns such as Bath and Swindon locally.

Other items up for discussion are the past years monitoring results for Trowbridge and which areas to work on first.  We have been discussing the MyCard Loyalty Scheme which could see great benefits in the town and we want to progress our ideas for pop-up shops and markets.

Tomorrows meetings for the Town Team include joining the discusssion with the Arts Committee who are busily creating Trowbridge’s first ever Arts and Culture Festival, taking place this September, the Food Festival that shall be among the closing events and in the afternoon The Trowbridge County Town Initiative are meeting with the Bath BID manager to gleen advice and tips on how to progress forward.  We’ll keep you informed.
