In case some of you don’t know planning permission was granted earlier this year but it would seem that there have been mis-givings as contracts had not been signed with the leading players.  Well all that has now changed and it would seem that our exciting new Civic Centre and stunning park are getting the neighbour they deserve.

St Stephens Place, the site of the old Tesco, has stood empty for many a year but it’s now full steam ahead for the new Leisure Park that shall boast a multiplex, 7 screen cinema complex in addition to an 80-bed Premier Inn and a range of restaurants and cafes set within a beautifully landscaped riverside setting.  Legal and General plan to handover to Odeon this time next year for the fit and Premier and restaurants by August 2013 with the Grand Opening scheduled for October.  For more information and to follow them on Twitter click here.

So what does this mean for Trowbridge right now?  Well the exisiting restaurants and cafes look set to be busy over the coming year and with the opening of the library in September, Trowbridge is really getting a facelift.  This energy can be felt throughout the town too.  With the proposed Arts and Community Centre in the Town Hall, the first Arts Festival being held this September and a host of other activities set to hit the town with the Jubilee and Olympics Celebrations, there really is lots going on in the immediate future and over the coming months and years.
